Role of SAP CRM functional

I would like to know the role played by the SAP CRM functional. What is the scope of this role in future.

HI,

CRM Functional consultant interacts with the customer , in order to understand his business processes and map with the CRM functionality in areas like

Marketing, segmentation , IC-WINCLIENT,WEBCLIENT, E-COMMERCE etc.

In each functionality , configuration of CRM system to meet customer business prcess requirementis done .'

Basic settings like transaction types, status profiles, partner determination , org determination etc are also done by functional consultants.

Master data like Business partner realed field grouping ( like mandatory fields etc ) is done by functional consultant.

Also if the functionality is not available in standard scenario , then the abap-developement is done withhelp of technical persons.

Middleware settings ,configuration for replication of data with R/3 etc also done by funcational consultants.

Greetings,

Firstly, fantastic work that you are carrying on in the forum.

Secondly, I would appreciate if you could advise me my next step.

I have close 11+ years of experience in 

Sales. Business Development , Key Account Management, Brand Management, Public Relations 

Development, Marketing, Market R&D, Client Servicing

so on and so forth in various different verticals and currently working as a Sr.Business Manager. I 

come from a non technical academics background.

SAP ERP is where I want to be now as I am not fixed on any domain, I am looking forward to get into SAp CRM training (Functional) and start a fresh career into SAP.

My questions are :

a) With 11 years of business Development experience and completing SAp CRM module, will this

enhance my career ,though I might have to start from scratch, but on the longer how does the stand

look like with my profile?

b) What would be the combination module along with SAP CRM that I can focus in the future (SD/MM/

SEM/BP/PLM/SRM/SEM/QM/CS/IS/EP) etc?

This is a very calculative move I would like to make and it would help in decision making with your

valuable advise.

SAP CRM or any SAP functional consultant will Analyse the Business Requirements of the client and explain to SAP tecghnical who are doing coding ABAP because they r programmmmers they r not aware of CRM Business Process flow for Ex: Sales office, Sales Org like words we have to explain to them

then they will write code according to that apart from that we have to go through BRD's and Make flow charts, and Functional specification docs , we have to do

and Devloping of the business requirement is done in SAP CRM Dev clinet after testing in Quality it will be moved to Production which is readily useful for the USers

Which packages are good in the market (likie SAP, Siebel, salesforce, etc) ? and alos easy to learn.

any good institues in hyderabad ?

Gewneral scenario is now the companies dealing with manufacturing who already implemented r3 for production they will go for SAP CRM to make unique environment of technology, where other domainslike Insurance, banking, finace they r prefering to go for siebel as siebel is chesper compared to SAP also they don't need r3 back end side those r only implementing siebel who already implemnted r3 that clients going for SAP CRM in General Siebel CRM market rate is 64% sap is only 44% right now it is expected to be go up to 65% after launching the CRM 5.0 you have to decide your self if you are stronmg enough in technical go for siebel crm , functionals people r given least prefernece, where in SAP CRM more for Functional and less for technical
