Hi all,
I have some problem in launching the resouce planning tool,T-Code:CRM_DWP.
We have a freshly installed CRM 5.0 sytem,It is throwing me the following errors:
<b>1)Internal error in Business Object Layer, method: GET_TIMESPEC_TYPES</b>
<b>2)Serious internal error occurred that cannot be described in more detail</b>
Are there any pre requisite settings that are required before launching this tool?
please provide directions to solve this.
Thanks in advance,
Sethu.
Hi Vick,
If you want to use service resource planning tool, you basically have to
decide the following:
1. Whether you want to use SAP's Scheduling Engine (WFM Core), or an
external scheduling engine.
2. Whether or not you want to work with SAP R/3 HR integration. HR
integration in this context means that employee data from the SAP
R/3 HR component is transferred to SAP CRM using ALE. The
availability information is transferred either to the WFM Core, or
to the external scheduling engine.
You can not use resource planning tool without WFM Core, which is the scheduling engine for RPT
The scheduling engine can be any thing SAP's WFM core or External Sceduling engine(Non-SAP).
Let us assume that you are going with WFM Core. Again WFM core can be used in two ways.
1. If you want to use the WFM Core in an APO system, you have to set up a RFC connection to the WFM Core
2. If you want to use the WFM Core in a SAP CRM add-on, you have to leave the relevant field empty in 'Select RFC Connection'. (This Customizing setting i have already mentioned in my last posting)
Once you have decided whether you want to use WFM core either with APO system or as a CRM add-on then you need to decide on R/3 HR Integration.
1. Without SAP R/3 HR Integration
If you do not use HR integration, use the 'CRM_LRP_FILL_RES' report to
transfer the service employees, which are stored in the system in the
role 'Employee', from SAP CRM to the WFM Core.
2. With SAP R/3 HR Integration
If you do use HR integration, employee data and availability information
is transferred from the HR system to the WFM Core using the 'RPTWFMIF'
report.
So finally after setting up all these things related WFM core you can run your resource planning tool. There is no RPT without WFM core.
Before doing all these you ned to install Software component 'WFMCORE' with version 2.0 which comes along with CRM installation DVD.
Still if you have any doubt please reply to this post.
Please reward points if it helps.

Hello Murali,
Just a quick question - Do I need to have the RPT/RP App Integrated with either APO or WFM for manual scheduling too? Also does WFM core add-on require licensing or is it standard with CRM 5.0.
Would you also have any documents configuring the RPT in detail with respect to creating service team and all the other prerequisites that you could possibly share with me.
I really apprecaite your help.
Thanks
Vick
Hi vick,
Resource planning tool is an application used to asssign service tasks to service employees. This assignment can be done manually by a resource planner or we can achieve this with Automatic scheduling.
In order to assign these Service tasks, RPT uses WFM core which is the SAP's scheduling rengine.WFM core can be installed as an ADD-on on CRM Server or it can be used from the APO system(Here you need to create RFC destinations). WFM core does not require any licensing which comes along with CRM installation DVD if would have opted for it.
Coming to documentation there are no document available for Configuring RPT, please check the following help links
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_crm50/helpdata/en/f0/2d3e88cf3045849767edfc645b1cff/frameset.htm

You must create all your Service teams as org units under the service organization in organizational model. Assign all service employees as positions to the respective service teams. You must assign a Resource planner to each service team, when ever this resource planner launches RPT he would be able to see hi service team, so that he can assign them service tasks based on their availability.
If you still nedd any clarification please reply

Dear Murali,
I want to use the WFM Core in a SAP CRM add-on Without SAP R/3 HR Integration. I done the customizing already.
You mentioned like
"If you do not use HR integration, use the 'CRM_LRP_FILL_RES' report to
transfer the service employees, which are stored in the system in the
role 'Employee', from SAP CRM to the WFM Core."
Can you explain this point to point setup how to do it. I can see a program in SE38 "Z_CRM_LRP_STATUS_AVAIL_TO_WFM" . I can see the the status in CRM_DWP in two types i.e Assigned or Not Assigned. But I want to see the Pre Assigned Status i.e before assigning the job agent/technician will send message like they are going to accept the job or reject the job or declained the job or pending the job etc., So these are Pre Assigned Status. I want to see this Status. Can you help me in a detailed way........
Points will be rewarded for right clue......Thanking you in advance
shrik.

Hi Murali,
I saw your replies to resource planning tool at sdn.sap.com
I will reward points for those answers of yours.
Kindly help me out with the following query of mine.
1) Is WFM core is a free add-on with SAPCRM 5.0 ? or it comes for a cost?
2) Is there any special user license required to use the WFM core add-on? Or the normal SAPCRM 5.0 user license is enough?
3) If we dont use the WFM core add-on, is it still possible to go ahead and do the manual scheduling?
4) Scenario question: The client is already having a legacy application which keeps tracks of the service personnel who have logged on to PDA and who are not allotted any service notification. Hence those service personnel whose status are displayed as AVAILABLE are allocated to service notification. This legacy application is not connected to SAP ECC. Now client intends to implement SAPCRM, in that case, what do you suggest? A) to retire the legacy application and start using SAPCRM. B) To continue with legacy application and integrate it with SAPCRM 5.0 since resource planning tool functionality in SAPCRM 5.0 is not compelling. Which one you suggest.
5) Is it possible in RPT (resource planning tool ) of SAPCRM 5.0 to see the persons who have logged on to PDA and to check their status as whether AVAILABLE or ENGAGED( if engaged, to which service notification number are they engaged to?)
Your answers and suggestions would come handy for my project assessment.
Thanks in advance.

HI,
Please check the following customizing settings in IMG.
1. IMG - CRM - Transactions - Settings for service processes - Settings for service resource planning - Select RFC connection
If you find the RFC connection as 'CRMLRP', please remove that entry
2. IMG - CRM - Transactions - Settings for service processes - Settings for service resource planning - Business Add-In for connecting the sceduling engine - Select scheduling engine
Here please select the entry CRM_SRV_SDL_WFM
After doing this please restart your RPT once again.
Reward points if it helps.

Hi Maurali,
I am having a run time error when I followed the instructions you gave me. It says that CALL_FUNCTION_NOT_FOUND
The funtion module "/SAPAPO/LRP_WFM_INFO_GET" is called but cannot be found in the library.
We have CRM 5.0 but do not have APO installed.
Does RPT require us to have WFM 2.0 Plugin for automatic scheduling. Do you have any documentation details the funtionality of the RPT without WFM. that is to what extent can this be used without WFM core.
Any information will be helpful.
Thanks,
Vick
I will award points for your reply.
Hi Vick
I hope you're already finished with your issue. If not this will help you. Please check your settings once again as follows:
Please check the following customizing settings in IMG.
1. IMG - CRM - Transactions - Settings for service processes - Settings for service resource planning - Select RFC connection
If you find the RFC connection as 'CRMLRP', please remove that entry
2. IMG - CRM - Transactions - Settings for service processes - Settings for service resource planning - Business Add-In for connecting the sceduling engine - Select scheduling engine
Here please select the entry CRM_SRV_SDL_RFC (if you don't have any external WFM Engine) CRM_SRV_SDL_WFM(If you have external WFM Engine)
After doing this please restart your RPT once again.

Hi Sethuram,
Were you able to figure out what was the problem in launching the RPT. I am facing the same issue.
Was there some configuration required in SPRO.
Please let me know.
