Hi,
I have two business roles(& sales units too) X and Y (Both have same nature- work center).
A is my main business.
Requirement: Users of business roles X can not see account and leads of users of business roles Y.
But somehow i could not achieve it. Following are my steps.
Step 1:
I created Org Unit with the name of A
General:
Org Unit ID: A_Root
Org Uit name: A
Valid From: 12/01/2015
Definition: Company
Addresses: Address added
Function:
Sales
Marketing
Employees:
No employees added
Step 2: Create X an Y Sales unit
General:
Org Unit ID: X_S_unit
Org Unit Name: X sales unit
Valid From: 12/01/2015
Definition:
Reporting line unit
Address:
No Address added
Functions:
Sales organization
sales
marketing
Employees:
Added all employees which lie under the X business unit.
Step 3:
Same way as i did for X, i created sales unit of Y with same definition and functions but org unit name and employees are different.
Step 4:
-> Go to Business roles Select business role 'X' and click on edit
-> Go to Access restriction click on lead and restrict read and write both.
-> Then i selected '99- Define Specific restriction'
-> In Detailed Restriction tab:
-- Expand employees
-- Expand A_Root and selected X with Read and write.
Step 5:
Same way i did for Y and restrict employees of Y.
But when i log in with employee of X sales unit, i can still display leads and accounts of Y unit.
What did i wrong here? or Please explain me step by step approach.
Thanks
Vincent,
Per your description of the requirement, it seems pretty straight froward.
You should create a company & then create the two Org units (X & Y with Sales Organization as their function), - the steps for setting up he org model seem correct.
When you go to Access restriction under the Business role you created - I am not sure why you are selecting rule 99 - Define specific restrictions.
You should just set all items (Read & Write) - against workcenter as Restricted & let the default rule - Recommended one - '1 - Recommended: Assigned Territories and Employees (for Managers).
this should take care of your access restriction the way you want.

Hi,
The setup seems fine. Have you updated all the users to have the latest version of the business role so that the latest changes are applicable?
Regards
Preethi
