As we enter 2024, let’s take a quick look back at 2023 which was a big year for SAP Commerce Cloud and SAP Emarsys Customer Engagement.

SAP had another record-setting Black Friday/Cyber Weekend, and both solutions were once again recognized as an industry Leader by both Gartner and IDC.

2023 also brought many exciting new features. Three common themes were:

1. Generative AI was the big topic last year and will be for the near future.  SAP Commerce Cloud and SAP Emarsys Customer Engagement added AI capabilities to improve productivity.

SAP CX AI Toolkit for Commerce saves time by identifying gaps in your catalog data to enhance data quality and catalog hygiene, enhances product discovery by utilizing visual search AI to find products that are similar, and delivers dynamic descriptive product content such as blogs and social banners.

Emarsys added Email Subject Line Generation, using AI to generate unique subject lines or improve existing ones, and uses A/B testing with AI to optimize subject lines to improve email performance and open rates​

2. Partnerships extend the capabilities to meet your unique business needs.

SAP Commerce Cloud continued to expand the partner ecosystem, available on SAP Store, to complement the already feature-rich, scalable solution. Find best-of-breed solutions in our highly curated partner ecosystem.

Emarsys Partner Connect was launched in Spring 2023 to help you easily find technology partners, expert solution partners, and developer resources to unlock value, scale, and innovation for omnichannel customer engagement.

3. Integrations across the SAP portfolio increases your value of investment.

Integrations between SAP Commerce Cloud and Emarsys help leverage commerce data for targeted marketing campaigns across B2B and B2C, and Account Engagement delivers more personalized and profitable commerce experiences for B2B buyers. Customers using Account Engagement with both SAP Commerce Cloud and SAP Sales Cloud can do even more by ensuring Sales, Marketing, and Commerce experiences are synchronized.

Additionally, SAP Commerce Cloud added greater transparency with real-time order updates from S/4HANA, and better purchasing experiences and engagement with Customer Data Platform and CPQ.
And Customer Data Platform information can be transferred to the Emarsys database in real time to trigger campaigns for more responsive and engaging journeys with your brand.
