When an opportunity is identified and opened in the system the deal size might not yet be clear and may vary depending on the details of a specific quote created within the negotiation process.

During the opportunity live cycle the responsible sales representative might create several quotes offering different options which the customer may decide on.

An opportunity can have multiple quotes assigned. One of these quotes can be flagged as the primary quote.

Within the sales quote it is possible to update the expected value of the related opportunity with the total net  value of the sales quote.

The update opportunity action is only active for sales quotes flagged as primary quotes.

Only one sales quote related to an opportunity can be flagged as primary quote. Flagging a different quote as primary quote will remove the primary quote flag from the previous sales quote.
