Frost & Sullivan knows a thing or two about best practices. For over 16 years, their world-renowned research analysts have identified what innovative technologists are doing to change the world and be disruptors in their industries. Tuesday night at the Loews’ Coronado Bay Resort, John Ruggles of Frost & Sullivan took to the stage to acknowledge a new crop of winners – innovators, achievers, disruptors, and customer specialists.

Among the extraordinary selection of change-agents in one room were companies innovating in energy management and clean tech; cloud software, genetic testing, a scientific search engine – even a company that celebrates and enhances the happiness quotient of your employees.

While the competition was impressive, SAP Hybris emerged as Frost & Sullivan's winner of “Ecommerce Company of the Year.” The timing couldn’t be better as Hybris also celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.

“It goes without saying, that this award belongs to everyone inside the organization,” said Brian Walker, Chief Strategy Officer, SAP Hybris as he took to the stage to accept the award on behalf of the company.  “It belongs to the product team, architects, engineers - those focused on building such a phenomenal solution.”

Walker also recognized product marketing and enablement for teaching everyone how to get the most out of SAP Hybris solutions.

“It extends to expert services and our channel organization focused on delivering customer success,” said Walker. “It extends to demand generation, marketing, our solution engineers and of course our sales people who have built such a phenomenal business globally. This award belongs to all of you. Thank you to all of our customers / partners who’ve been with us along the way.”

Walker said that SAP Hybris seems like an overnight success, but it’s been 20 years in the making – from a small office in Munich, Germany where founders Carsten Thoma and Moritz Zimmermann got together with a great team of people and built a phenomenal business.

“But it took many, many years - a credit to them and to their leadership,” said Walker. “Most of the original team is still very involved in the business today.”

Walker also acknowledged the SAP leadership who decided to acquire Hybris over three years ago.

“Hasso Plattner, Bill McDermott, Berndt Leukert, Rob Enslin, Jim Hageman-Snabe, and the rest of the board and leadership at SAP enabled us to continue on a journey of building out a great solution so that our customers and partners can have great success.”

As the evening wound to a close, congratulations were exchanged and we proudly took this photo to share the moment with all of you, worldwide, who might not have been able to catch the live moment on Facebook.

Thanks, to all the hybrids and let’s take it to the next level in 2017!
