Creating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in SAP Cloud for Customer (C4C) Stories/ Embedded SAC can be a difficult task, especially when a standard template is not provided by SAP. This step-by-step guide aims to simplify the process, providing clear and concise instructions to help you set up KPIs in C4C Stories / Embedded SAC functionality. Let’s dive in and transform your data into meaningful metrics!
Step 1: Create a new story, drag and drop data source in query designer, select relevant fields and select correct Access Context.
Step 2: Create a calculated column which would act as KPI Target. Make sure to change Aggregation to MAX.
Step 3: Insert a comparison chart in story with Expected Value and Test KPI Target as measure. Display Test KPI Target as triangle in this chart.
Step 4: Add reference line to display Target in comparison chart.
Step 5: Add variance to comparsion chart to calculate percentage and absolute difference between Expected Value and Test Target KPI.
Following steps are optional and in following step I am creating the same KPI but showing percentage and absolute value difference in different way.
Step 6: Create a calculated measure (addition of Expected Value and Test KPI Target) in comparison chart. This calculated measure will be used in variance hence dont display this calculated measure on screen.
Step 7: Use this calculated measure in variance to display percentage and absolute difference in positive value rather than negative.
In the image above, Test KPI v1 indicates the additional sales needed to reach the target, while Test KPI v2 displays the sales that have already been achieved.
