SmartEdit How to add additional catalogs

We have 3 catalogs

ContentCatalog

ProductCatalog

MediaCatalog

Smart edit seems to only recognize just the OOTB catalogs: Content and Product.

Is it possible to add additional catalogs - like Media Catalog? So that Smartedit would be able to upload images or to use images from the MediaCatalog.

Media can either be under Product Catalog or Content Catalog.

In my 3 Hybris projects, I've never seen a Media Catalog.

Based on further research - smartedit only likes content and product catalog.

As for a media catalog - what this avoids is having duplicate images created when you sync from stage to online. since the product catalog stage and online media relationships all point to the media catalog online.

We have decided that product digital assets will live in the mediaProductCatalog, and content digital assets will live in the content catalog so that there will be no issues using smartedit to manage pages.
