SAP CRM Search field operator defaults

Hello,

I've noticed that certain fields in SAP CRM can be search by different operators such as "is", "contains", "between" etc. I looked through SM34 --> CRMVC_DQ to see if there was a way to add a specific field to this list but it has not worked as of yet. I basically have a customer field, I am able to search on this field but only with the operator "is". i saw some other discussions related to my question but none have helped. I specific want to make this field searchable by "contains" but no luck thus far. Any thoughts?
