Hello all,
how can we restrict in standard data sources the values of the Sales Organisations to only those org units that are defined as Sales Organisations in the Org Structure? At the moment, all org units are displayed.
We did the following:
At Administrator/General Settings/Org Structure we defined 9 org units as sales organisations.
In the workcenters everything is working as expected, e.g. at the Account only these 9 org units are shown in the field Sales Organisation:
In the standard data sources, however, all org units (more than 200) are shown (see data source “Opportunity Header” as example). Unfortunately, this pulls through to all following reports or dashboards.

According to SAP this is the expected behaviour. We have already posted an idea Idee_239721 at the Influence board a long time ago. Since we do not seem to get enough votes, we need to adapt it in our reports ourselves.
Do you have an idea how to solve this?
Thank you very much.
Anja
Dear klockowa,
At data source level, we can not restrict, so we will see everything that system has.
However at report level, if you can assign report as per business roles then end user who has access to report, they should be able to see only limited values as per access context.
You can try these or simply hide this field "sales organization" from report selection and also disable add field options for them. This way end users can not add new fields to report.
Please let us know if there are any further concerns.
Regards,
Saurav Kumar

Hello,
This is an expected system behavior because in Data Sources you get all the possible value in value help i.e. value help is not context sensitive. For example, a system might have 50+ value for a field but only 30 value are used in system then in data source you will find 30 value in the value help while making the reporting or analytics.
Hence, I don't think SAP will change this behavior considering the purpose of Data Source(reporting) and its wide adoptance.
