I am implementing the new Promotion engine in hybris in 6.*.
As we know, as of 6.*, the "could have fired" messages are not supported and can be only modelled by using Potential Promotions. Apart from the flexibility that the Rule Engine gives in this respect, i am facing some challenges with the Potential Promotions, such as: - For each promotion, i need to create 2 promotion rules - one for the actual promo, and one for the "could-have-fired" effect - More promotion rules means more maintenance, manual work and performance hits - with Potential Promotions it is difficult to cover all the cases where ‘could have fired’ message need to be displayed
Can anyone please help me to understand why this should be the best practice ? Business will have lots of difficulty in handling this.
