Who install SAP Contact Center 7.0

Hello Guys,

Its just a basic questions ? who does install the SAP Contact Center software? Sap BCM consultant or SAP Basis consultant ?

I understand that Operating system,database and network will be taken care by infrastructure team. How about the installation of the contact center software,configuration and administration. Who will manage all this ?

I would definitely recommend getting support from a SAP expert for this. I installed all of the underlying infrastructure and did initially attempt the Contact Center installation, but the product setup process is very complex and I hit a lot of issues - I wasted a lot of time trying to get things working on my own. The installation documentation is okay but there's a lot that is not explained and I found some key steps were missing. The SAP Consultant was excellent but even he had a few headaches, however he could get expert advice to which I had no direct access. We managed to successfully install 3 environments (dev, QA, prod) in 3 days including reporting solutions (which was a bit mad! I did a LOT of prep work before he came on site). Well worth the cost in the end as I think I would have spent many more days trying to get it all working. Plus there were some things around good practice that I may not have configured. By sitting with the Consultant whilst he configured the product, I also learned a great deal more about the system than I'd known before.

Hello,

definitely SAP BCM (CCtr) technical consultant. We distinguish technical and functional consultants (or rather functional only and functional+technical consutlants).

SAP CCtr is not classical OLTP nor OLAP system like CRM, ERP, BI and so on. It is rather technical infrastructure and it is a real-time core application. Person installing it should know about CCtr functionality...

Hello,

You will need an expert SAP BCM Technical Consultant. Please take into SAP Contact Center (AKA SAP BCM) have a quite different technical architecture than a typical SAP standard installation that normally is installed and managed by a SAP Basis consultant.

BCM is not like ABAP or Java System.

It is totally different like BOBJ systems.

As BASIS guys we are performing the installation and configuration of BCM systems. And we earn money from this job.

But of course BCM guys can do this job, too.

It depends on the project and the consultants.
