Hi all,
We are trying to work out what does the subscription checkbox do on the communications categories configuration screen do.
I am hoping that if I don't check subscription and set communication limits and then specify in a campaign it will automatically apply to all contacts in my DB.
Advice appreciated
Cheers
Matt

Excellent thanks for all your responses.
I was hoping that there was a background application job where I could enrich all of the contacts with a generic subscription called ALL_Newsletters. And I would set communication limits for this subscription.
I would set the application job to run every day so that when any new contacts were replicated from C4C I could enrich them with this subscription. Then for all campaigns where I want to enforce communication limits, I would reference subscription at the campaign level.
After consideration, I don't believe I can automatically enrich contacts with a subscription? I guess this could be potentially achieved within the interface although I was hoping to avoid this.
I guess the broader requirement is how do I enforce communication limits across all of the contacts where they don't have any particular subscription. e.g. their origin is C4C.
Thanks
Matt

Hi Matt,
in addition to that, you also have to check the subscription check box to use the communication category in forms (e.g. if you would like to give your customers the chance to subscribe to your newsletter on your webpage).

Hello Matt,
You have to check the subscription check box to use the Communication category in the Campaign level , else setting only the Limits will allow to use them at email level to set communication limits for the emails.
Also setting limits , you have to use this at Email level and not at Campaign level , I guess without checking subscription check box, you will not find the same in campaign level to use it as a newsletter campaign.

Saravana.
