What does "(GSEG/704)" in an error message mean?

Hi,

when I try to delete a custom business object in SAP Marketing Cloud, I have to delete it from the assignment to a segmentation object (i.e. "Contacts"), it has been assign to by default. When I press the "x" button, after deleting the key field, I get the error message: "Data could not be removed 'V_GSEG_OT_DS', layer CUS: Deleting object is not allowed. (GSEG/704)"

But what does this message mean? From the first Word I assume that it has something to do with Segmentation and Datasource. But "OT"?

"GSEG" points to Segmentation, too. But this Object never was used in any Segmentation. And there is no Segmentation with an id of 704 (the highest one is still below 100)?

So does anybody have a clue.

Best Regards

Christian

Dear chholzer_msg,

The standard way of removing assignment/ deleting-

  • The problem is the error you get when trying to delete the data source belonging to a CBO directly in the segmentation object.
  • This indeed is not allowed and would lead to inconsistencies as the assignment of the CBO to the segmentation object is still there. So the correct way is to delete the assignment in the application CBO in Segmentation".
  • This should also remove the data source from the segmentation object, otherwise it is an error.

Meanwhile, I see you already have reported an incident with SAP on this regards, hence you can close this thread.

Thank you.

Dear Kunal,

yes, this worked.

Still, maybe a more speaking error message would have been helpful.

You can always check the more detailed log of such errors in the Application Log app.

But I have another CBO, which is shown as a DataSource, but which is not shown in the application "CBO in Segmentation".

Of course I get the same error messages as with the other CBO. In the Application Log there is no additional information.

But this CBO was messed up somehow from the beginning, so I do not focus on this one.
