WCMS Custom Restrictions for fitment

Hi Experts,

We have a requirement where in we need to restrict a component against the fitment in session.

Fitment is a project specific keyword and in general terms just a list of category codes in session, say for instance. Currently in our Category lister pages, each category on display is a category feature component. Now the requirement is to restrict these components comparing against the category codes in session.

So we were thinking about using a custom restriction and sending these session category codes in context. But we could not figure out how to match the components against the list of category codes, as within a restriction the component isnt available as restrictions are loosely coupled. Is it better to do this via the component controller instead, is it even possible to restrict these components via the component controller
