Visit planning and Dynamic Visit Planning (DVP) using a map view

Hi there, DVP includes a map view. Using a map in standard visit planning you need to license third party map service like Google maps. What is a map good for? Maybe it is just for making appointments using drag'n'drop feature, maybe more. If we have licensed DVP, we have a map included. Is it possible to use this map in standard visit planning? I don't know if there is a specific mashup available. If so, are there restrictions, maybe in use rights? If it is allowed to use, how to implement this map in standard visit planning. I found nothing about it so far. Using different maps for more or less the same purpose makes no sense, IMO.

Hi Uwe,

if you are using the DVP actively, why do you need the normal visiting in addition? I do agree that having two different maps with to different features for the same purpose do not make sense. I see the DVP not as an addition, but as an replacement for the standard visit planning. Just seeing the past visits in a list view can be done properly without a map view I would say.

Hi Luis, we will use DVP only for a few of all users, who travel a lot as high performers. Maybe SAP will take an additional fee for the map for standard visit tasks, an additional and different map would make no sense.
