Dear Experts,
as per my knowledge the Validation Status is determined/calculated as stated in SAP Help: https://help.sap.com/viewer/ac1eab4c66bc490da7ac2c378c46b0e7/2108.500/en-US/2b07f68cde4e4648a65ec1a6...
Now we can observe the following behavior:
We have contacts in MC with status "Self-Identified" (e.g. they only have Origin EMAIL).
After they are handed over to C4C as a lead, a Business Partner (in preparation) is replicated back to MC and an Interaction Contact with Origin SAP_MKT_BUPA (and additional Origin SAP_C4C_BUPA) is created and merged with the contact. By that our Contact gets the Validation Status "Verified".
After we convert the lead in C4C to Contact and Account ("Associate Account and Contact"), the Business Partner in C4C is set to active. By that the Contact in Marketing Cloud gets the Validation Status "Business Partner".
Now I'm wondering about that new status because neither Origins nor anything else has obviously changed.
So, does anybody know how that Validation Status is exactly determined/calculated? I just want to make sure that we are working on true assumptions if we plan to work with that Validation Status.
Kind Regards
Tobias

Dear Tobias,
contact origin data can in fact be imported
with a corresponding validation status (unfortunately the SAP Help page
referenced by you does not mention this). The C4C contact data of a
Business Partner in preparation are replicated to the interaction
contact with validation status "Verified". The active C4C Business
Partner data however are replicated to the interaction contact without
validation status which then induces the system to assign the validation
status "Business Partner" to the interaction contact (this is also not
mentioned in the referenced SAP Help page yet).
Kind regards
Christian
