I want to upgrade Hybris 5.7 to CXCommerce 1905. Which is the best approach to follow? Can I directly upgrade from 5.7, or should i upgrade in hops? Request you to share your views on the same.

Thank you very much everybody out there!

Actually, once the documented migration steps are done (few days..), then you can start with "hammer it until it compiles, starts and works" phase..... 😉

That's the point the management has difficulties to understand.

I am not sure if you still need the answer as the question was asked a fortnight ago. I have done two migration projects and from my experience, I always recommend graded upgrade (i.e. upgrading in hops). In other words, 5.7->6.0->6.1...

This way, you will face minimal problems because you will have support from Hybris documentation which is available for each hop e.g. https://help.sap.com/viewer/a74589c3a81a4a95bf51d87258c0ab15/6.0.0.0/en-US/8c10e0f286691014a9f6c481c...

Hallo arvind-kumar-avinash

I'm searching generic resources about Hybris migration. We currently are on 6.7, and plan to migrate to 1905.

The first question I've been asked is "How much does it cost" ?

We all know there is no precise answer to the question, since costs depends on customization level.

In you experience, how would you estimate the migration costs range ? 2-4 months ?

Any input is very appreciated.

Hi amichele - If I recall correctly, had given 200 PD (Person Days) of the estimate for a Hybris migration project (migration from 4.8 to 5.2) and it was successfully completed within that budget. The condition was that the project was not supposed to add any new functionality or change an existing functionality as part of the migration. Also, if something was not supported (e.g. a specific browser version) in the target version, it was supposed to be excluded.

Thank you @arvind-kumar-avinash for your feedback!

I assume your estimate includes all involved figures: Project Manager, Testers, Developers, etc, etc.

Anyway: Thank you very much.
