Unable to open attachments in SAP CRM WebUI

i have 2 different projects. in 1 peoject, i can open attachments from Webui, but in the other project, i cannot open attachments. Both are CRM7.0 and i have maintained the following in both for *sicf*> external aliases

also, the user maintained is a "system" user

in

BSP_WD_CMPWB, I have compared the component GS_CM and the code has not been enhanced. it is similar to the one in the project where i can view attachments.

Please help, is there anything i have left out? i have cleared browser cache after deactivating and activating the content server and now i am at a loss on what else to do. Please help
