Unable to edit/save component in Smartedit if it doesn't have unique name.

I am trying to edit a component and save it but Its not allowing if there is other component with same name in the catalog even though the component id unique. Is this a valid case and Could someone please share any SAP document for this validation.

Hello! This is an expected and OOTB behavior, since the name of SmartEdit components belong to CMS items, by design they should also be unique, being validated by the class CMSItemNameExistsPredicate.
