Hello experts,
I have been reading through the help.sap.com/mkt page, through blogs on the answer.sap.com site and on other pages concerning Tags in SAP Marketing Cloud, but I still do not completely get it.
1) Tags in campaigns and content studio for "Search"
https://answers.sap.com/questions/475782/hybris-marketing-cloud-tag-types.html
- My understanding:
Creation:
You can tag a campaign or an email to find similare campaigns and emails easier using the search function in the campaign overview or the content studio overview.
To create new tags, you can enter them into the "Tags Field" and press the enter button.
Deletion of Tags:
For the deletion of unused tags you can use an application job.

These tags (on campaign overview and content studio settings) are also used for the report -> "Campaign Performance by Tags"
2) Manage Interests and Tags + Sentiments
- My understanding:
Creation:
In the manage interests app you do not have a possibility to create tags on your own.
Those tags come from external systems. Typically from social media systems you have connected to the SAP Marketing Cloud ...
Or the SAP HANA Text Analysis engine. The HANA Text Analysis engine in SAP Marketing Cloud is used by the sentiments analysis.
Those tags are than visible in the manage interests app and can be assigned to specific interests.
Open Questions:
Are my understandings correct?
For what reason do I want to assign a tag to an interests? What is the benefit of it expect the grouping possibililty?

Dear Christof,
You have the correct understanding for both the scenarios and also you tag and interest to filter/grouping.
