Dear Experts,
How would one go about setting certain fields as mandatory? We would like to set certain custom contact fields as mandatory, in addition to setting non-custom campaign fields as mandatory - linking to Programs and defining the Media Type are fields which we would need to set as mandatory.
Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Today I found that there are new BADIs "Field Control of Custom Fields in Contact UI" as well as "Field Control of Custom Fields in Spotlighting Account User Interface" introduced for context "Marketing: Contact and Corporate Account" and these can be used to mark a field as Hidden, Mandatory, Read-Only or Optional on Contact as well as Spotlighiting accounts UI,
Could you please check if this can be utilized for the same?

unfortunately as far as I know it is not possible to set fields as mandatory at the moment.
As you can see, there is an improvement request with many votes but in status "not planned" https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/idea/205227/

As the reason on the above improvement request for setting it to "not planned" was that they needed to discuss with the S/4 / SAPUI5 guys, I decided to repost it on the S/4 user experience influence, so this one is open for voting:
