Hello together,
if a contact has several E-Mail adresses how can we control or know which E-Mail receives an E-Mail if a contact has more than one E-Mail Adress?
See following example:

Can this be controlled dynamically which email receives the email out of the marketing cloud like e.g. for campaign type A email adresse A receives the mail and for campaign type B email address B receives the email.
I dont see a reason why it is possible to maintain more than one email

Hi Oliver,
for my understanding this depends on the priority of the Id Origin "SAP_MANUAL - locally edited data" and if you add several E-Mails, dann the newest should be used - because of the timestamp.

Hi Jasmin,
thank you very much. Only one last question. In SAP Standard there exists a button to add manually an Email Adress.

If I add several E-Mails here and all have the same ID ORIGIN in which sequence they would be used? In our system the assignment of marketing area to contact is 1:1 so no more than one marketing area can be assigned per contact.
I guess the first email address that was added and is opt-in would be used right?

Hi Oliver,
in the customizing settings "Manage your solution" - you are able to configure the Origins for Contact ID and define for which facets, the contact could have more than one assigned. For example for Origin "EMAIL" you leave the checkbox "one per contact" blank if a contact can have more than one ID of this origin.
Depending on the priorities of the data source (other origins for example SAP_C4C_BUPA or SAP_HYBRIS_CONSUMER) the system identifies, which email address is the more important one and put this into the Golden Record. This email will be used for sending out campaigns.
If you want to differentiate for different campaigns, which email should be used, you are able to assign by defining the permission each email address a marketing area. If you create and execute an email campaign for marketing area Global, the system choose automatically the opted-in email address for this marketing area.
Hope this helps!
Best regards,
Jasmin
