Score attributes and new score technology

Dear SAP experts,

I have to configure a score to classify our contacts with certain attributes that are missing in the solution. For example:

- Gold customers have the following attributes:

1. interaction type 'equal to' sales_order AND
2. total number of interactions 'greater than' 5 AND
3. total sales amounts 'greater than' USD500,00
4. for the past 3 months (period)

- Silver customers:

1. interaction type 'equal to' sales_order AND
2. total number of interactions 'between' 2 and 4 AND
3. total sales amount 'between' USD200,00 and US499,00
4. for the past 3 months (period)

And so on...

I have read in in this question that these as well as other attributes have been removed from the solution (total number of interactions, total sales amount and other product related attributes).

Then I found this question with an answer from carsten.heuer1 which seems to confirm that the attributes are no longer available, at least temporarily. Carsten also mentions that we should avoid any efforts on developing new scores because the technology behind it will be changed.

My question is...

Will my classification score be available in the new standard score solution that is in the roadmap for marketing cloud 1911? I mean, will these attributes that I need be available again in the solution?

I need guidance with this in order to know if I should wait for the next couple of releases or if I should develop new scores based on my needs. I would think it´s best if we waited but I am not sure we can wait that long...

Dear Guilherme,

thanks for your question and providing your use case for a rule-based score. You are right, that the mentioned attributes (total number, product, ...) needed to be removed from the Score Builder attribute list. They did not work properly.

We are heavily working on replacing the rule engine in the Score Builder. At the moment, I cannot tell with which release the new Score Builder will be shipped. The envisioned release is 1911, but could also be in a later release.

In a first version, total number would be supported. In a later release, the product related attributes will be supported as well. According to our roadmap planning the requirements to realize your use cases are included. However, you need to wait a couple of releases until all is there.

Yeah, this is what I thought. I just wanted to confirm. I will pass this on to my client and will see what they decide. My vote is to wait and use standard functionality. But we are in the middle of the implementation project and we kind of needed this sooner then a couple of releases from now 😕
