Hi,
we have a set of GDPR consents that are a combination of purpose and channel.
For example:
1. Purpose: Direct marketing. Channels: email, phone, regular post
2. Purpose: Newsletter. Channel: email
3. Purpose: NPS measurment. Channels: email, phone
How would you model this in SAP Marketing Cloud?
I wanted to use implicit permissions and store everything in subscriptions (one subscription for every combination of purpose + channel) but found out that subscriptions can only be used for emails.
And with the settings above we will definitily have contacts that only have a phone number and have consents for direct marketing for phone and NPS measurement for phone (for the same phone number).

I'm aware this is currently not possible. I'm interested how to achieve it with current application options.
Since this is a pretty standard scenario when it comes to GDPR (consent having a purpose and a channel). And since SAP Marketing Cloud is a omni-channel markerting tool I assumed someone else had this problem before.
My solution ideas are:
1. Use custom field.
Pros: can easily manage it with a form
Cons: does not have history information
2. Use CBO
Pros: Has some history information if you turn on "System Administrative Data"
Cons: can not be managed by a form directly
Do you (or anybody else) see any other options or see any big flaws in the ones I'm thingink about?

This is the standard design - newsletter campaigns do support the email scenario only. This is documented in the online help as well:
Subscription-Enabled Campaigns
Subscription enabled categories (for the newsletter scenario) do support Email medium only.
This is the current application design - I however found the following improvement request in the influence portal:

Hi,
here is an example of a contact that has email and phone permissions.
He also has two subscriptions. One for Newsletter (2. Purpose: Newsletter. Channel: email) and one for survey (3. Purpose: NPS measurment. Channel: email).

Question is how to achieve the same for his phone number.
So that the contact will be able to unsubscribe from direct marketing over SMS (1. Purpose: Direct marketing. Channel: phone) and surveys over SMS (3. Purpose: NPS measurment. Channel: phone).
Does it make more sense now?
