SAP Marketing: When is a new campaign version created?

I just saw that there can be multiple versions of a campaign. I saw that in table CUAN_D_MKTORC_RT. Does anyone know when a new campaign version is created? I did not find any information about that...

Hello Christian,

The version field in the Campaign Orchestration business object is no longer relevant. It is a relic of an older, deprecated design.

Even though my request is quite old: We got some response from SAP in regards to that version and us was told that this attribute is obsolete and not used for further processes anymore.

I have not worked with that particular attribute so far but I can find the below definition for this attribute .

InitiativeVersion

The ID of the campaign version, which is derived from or belongs to the campaign ID. A campaign version is created for campaigns that are based on dynamic target groups once they are executed.

somehow in my example no new campaign version was created when the recurring campaign was executed again... I took a dynamic target group.
