Hello Community,
We are using SAP Marketing onPremise (1809), now we like to create a Target Group that includes Accounts and Contatcs.
The Question is, is it possible to create Target Groups to do this?
If yes, how do we have to configure the Segmentationmodel to create one Target Group that includes both?
Thank you for your answers.
With kind regards

DEFAULT
The search in a segmentation can be based on Accounts and Contacts. However, the member list of a target group is by default either account/business partner OR interaction contact, but not both. Depending on the customizing for the leading system (ERP, CRM or not defined), you can either set the desired member type for your target group, or it is hidden and automatically set to contact.
CUSTOM PROJECT
You might be able to set up a customer project, define your own member type (e.g. account&contacts), check the segmentation object customizing for the consumer class and use the method GET_MY_TYPE to set the member type for the result.
PROBLEM
The implementation and customizing might be 'feasible' and you will have your desired target group, but follow-up processes will most likely not be supported by default and would require further customer projects.
Also, I see one further problem with your approach, since accounts and contacts have partially different underlying data structures, it will be difficult to 'merge' them into one output list and also depending on the campaign task, you still might have difficulties to either have the same processes applied for both types or even different processes for the different types.
ALTERNATIVE
Have you not considered using two target groups, one for accounts and one for contacts, based on the same selection criteria. Depending on your further requirements you could either execute separate campaign tasks for both target groups or also combine those two manually into one file, if e.g. your required output is a file.
But who knows, maybe SAP will surprise us in the future and solve your issue with a new member type based on relationships for example.

I don't have a system in front of me to check, but don't you have a standard segmentation object "All Accounts and Contacts"?
