Hello,
Similar to Contacts upload, Accounts Upload using the CSV file, can we upload Leads into SAP Marketing upload.

Vinod
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Vinod,
"Lead" in SAP Marketing Cloud is an Interaction Type. So you have to use the "Interactions" Import with the type MARKETING_LEAD.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

Do you have a sample template for uploading the interactions? When I check the below link
It did gave me the sample template but I'm not able to understand how it shows in the system as there is no contact name/ number. How will the interaction gets create if the contact does not exists in Marketing cloud. Can you pls point me to a ppt or link which can give details of how to upload the leads.
Pls help.
Hi avreddy2007,
for example to import a lead interaction you can adapt the CSV template you downloaded and provide at least the following attributes:
ID_ORIGIN;ID;COMM_MEDIUM;IA_TYPE;TIMESTAMP;MKT_AREA_ID
EMAIL;your-email-address;BUSINESS_DOCUMENT;MARKETING_LEAD;20200730120000;CXXGLOBAL
Usually you import your contacts before.
OItherwise in the case above the system will create an Anonymous Contact with the "Lead" interaction which will look like this:

Of course you can provide more details/attributes in the CSV.
Hope that helps and answers both of your questions below. If so, you can mark answer as accepted.
Otherwise let me know if you have any further questions 🙂

avreddy2007 unfortunately there are only the Statuses
01 - In Process
05 - Converted
07 - Unsuccessful
But if you absolutely need more, you could think about creating a Custom Field for interactions. There you can use type Codelist and name it "Lead Status" for example and then use the ones you need.
Maybe that's a workaround for you.
Hi,
You could use the Data File Load app to import Interactions which are Leads.
Kind Regards,
Markus

Hi avreddy2007. Regarding to your last questions, you could get the template for the interactions directly in SAP Marketing Cloud. Just click on the search button and search for "Data File Load" application, then select the object you want (Interactions in this case), and then click on "Step 2" button and use the Download Example File option as shown below:

In the last question you asked about interactions of contacts that are not created. You can upload that interaction, but marketing will assign them to an "anonymous" contact. If you later upload that contact, Marketing automatically relate that interaction with the new contact (SAP magic 🙂 ). By the way, I recommend you to upload the contact for the interaction previously.
Let me know if you have more questions 🙂 Please upvote or mark as answered the question that worked for you 😉

One more question schneidertobias, if the contact does not exists in marketing cloud and we are uploading the interaction how interaction is created using the contact?
