SAP Marketing Cloud: Segment anonymous accounts

When I upload/import contacts I always directly link the corresponding account/company. If this account does not exist in the system, then a new account is created. However, this account does only contain the ID information then:

From my perspective this is just right and may also happen in the productive system since we apply some filter within the account integration.

Now I would like to somehow segment those contacts which have such a account assigned. I was wondering if I can segment on the name. The account profile displays 'Anonymous' as name but I suppose that this is just displayed if no name exists, right? At least I could only filter contacts by account name equal to '' and not equal to 'Anonymous'.

Can someone confirm this maybe?

Hi chackbusch,

You could try to segment those contacts which have an „Anonymous“-Account assigned like this:

  1. In the segmentation configuration select "Contacts" - "Contacts and Related Interactions" and set the attribute name „KNA1_NAME“ (Attribute Group: Accounts) as "Visible as Attribute".
  2. Segment on the profile "All Contacts" and select "Accounts" - "Account". You should find an empty row that you can select, which should represent these „Anonymous“-Accounts.

Best Regards,

Katharina

Hey markertk,

alright - that was my approach which I was trying to explain. But good that you confirmed that! I mean this would also include regulary integrated accounts where just no name is maintained (and not only the ones from my use case), but in our system a name should always exist. So for us this will be fine I guess.

Thank you & best regards
Christian
