Item entry on SAP GK POS using barcodes

Hello community, my issue goes as follows:

The barcode consists of 2 parts, Item number and batch number. (e.g. 6000000.0207.2022).

I need a way to scan the item number" before the dot" while excluding the numbers after the dot for item search. Then if the search by item number was successful, transfer the batch number" after the dot" in the item`s serial number for batch management purposes.

Please note that master data for the item batch number is not available and will not be available until scanning time.

Is there any way I can do this without development?
