Hi,

Why does field service engineer need another system to perform the same functions which are already available in C4C? What are the advantages of FSM over resource scheduler?

Hi Damo,

If you are using C4C and the native resource scheduling is enough for what you need, happy days: use it and enjoy.

FSM offers a greater level of capability and functions, for work generated out of any work management system (standard integration provided by SAP for C4C, S/4HANA Service, CRM, S/4HANA PM/CS, ERP PM/CS) which you can read about here:

https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_FIELD_SERVICE_MANAGEMENT

Key capabilities include: Customer self service (appointment booking), sophisticated planning and dispatching (grouping, supporting technicians, teams) via gantt chart or map, AI automated scheduling with travel time calculation and optimisation, technician offline mobile app, integrated smartforms for data capture, crowd sourcing (scheduling part time contractors).

Regards

Simon

Hello Damodar,

1.C4C Recourse Scheduler : In this case the generic flow is as below :-

a)You create service ticket and add an item to it.

b)Service-Item is released to scheduling.

c)This Item will then be visible within C4C Resource Scheduler woc->Demand view, where service technician perform the service.

2.FSM (Field Service Management) : Here, you have C4C integration with external core system .

a)There is scoping question relevant for this, which needs to be scope in the C4C Business Configuration.

b)Once done, you create service ticket and add an item to it.

c)Then 'Release to FSM' button to release item to FSM

d)Now in the FSM system, the technician perform the service and update the status accordingly.

==>Do refer the help center document for 'Resource Scheduler' and 'Field Service Management' for more details.Hope this helps !!

Thanks and Regards,
