SAP for Me Access and Authorization Issues for Business One Customers

Hello,

We are SAP Business One customers. I want to access SAP for Me (https://me.sap.com) to track software downloads, licenses, maintenance status, and support-related information.

Although I can log in to SAP for Me, I receive authorization errors in several areas. SAP Support has informed me that these issues must be resolved by our partner.

However, our partner has opened a support request with SAP, but despite multiple requests, they have not shared the Case ID. It's been over a week, and there is still no progress. Therefore, we are unable to track the incident and resolve our authorization issues in SAP for Me.

My Questions:

As an SAP Business One customer, do I need my partner's approval to access software downloads and license information in SAP for Me?

Do customers have administrative rights in SAP for Me, or is this entirely under the partner's control?

What is the correct procedure for resolving SAP for Me authorization and company assignment issues in Business One environments?

Any clarification or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello William,

Thank you for your feedback.

Our partner referred us to another company for server and SAP B1 installation support. However, for security reasons, we installed the SAP B1 server ourselves.

Until last year, I was able to download SAP B1 software without any problems. Due to other projects, I hadn't logged in to download updates for a while. Recently, when I tried to download and test the latest versions, I noticed that the software was no longer visible.

While checking our licenses, I noticed that our maintenance contract was showing as inactive. I contacted SAP to confirm whether this was an error in the SAP for Me portal or whether our maintenance contract had actually been renewed. I am currently awaiting clarification from the SAP team on this matter.

I read in the following article that partner companies log in at https://partneredge.sap.com/, that the SAP for Me portal is for customers, and that authorizations must be transferred to the customer after the initial setup:

It's taking me a while to learn because of my poor English 🙂
Thanks again for your answer.

Hello,

I will try to help with the knowledge I have, but this is not my specialty as I am a SAP developer mainly.

As far as I know, all SAP downloads and licenses are under partner control, so the client doesn't have direct access to it, only through the SAP partner, so you need their support if you want specific download or license.

If the partner it is not providing right guidance, I suggest talk with another SAP partner and maybe change your partner. Of course, always try to work it out with our current partner first.

Hope it helps and best regards,
