SAP Customer Checkout - Item's Tax

I noticed when I change the "Tax rate type code" for any line; the "Gross Amount" does not get affected by the change, it remains the same no matter what I change. Is there an option I am missing in the system that enables the "Gross Amount" to be changed when I change the "Tax rate type code"?

Thank you so much,
Amlood Al Omari.

Hi amlood.omari,

we developed a plugin for taxmode switching which works in retail ui as well as the new ui. This plugin does affect the gross amount. You can also switch for the whole receipt so that all following sales items are affected etc.

Can you drop us a line so that we can get in touch?

I have noticed even when a customer is set to a different tax code, Customer checkout still applies the item default tax code. Is there a setting or a way this could be modified?

Hi Amlood,

currently the function to change the tax code in the item position does not affect the gross amount. It is for example related to the fact that in some countries the tax code differ if you use/eat the item in the shop/restaurant or if you take it away (to go). the gross price will remain the same but the tax code changes from 19% to 7% depending on the regulation.

We received similar request as you wrote in the past and have it on our backlog list, for example customer a has to pay 19% for item 1 and customer b has to pay 0% for the item 1. A way could be to create a button on the sales screen (named: Tax exception or something similar) that changes the tax code and the re-calculation of the tax if it is pushed. Currently the only way is to do it with a partner developed plugin/enhancement. As mentioned above we know about this kind of request and maybe a solution will come in one of the next releases. I can't give a commitment here.

kind regards
