The SAP Commerce Cloud (Core Commerce, Java/Spring application) August 2025 release is scheduled to be supported for 12 months as opposed to the six (6) month Update Release mainstream maintenance cycle.

Will SAP Commerce Cloud, Composable Storefront maintain the compatibility window with the August 2025 Core Commerce release, or will it align to the typical 6 month release cycle, with compatibility only with new Framework Core Commerce (JDK 21 / Spring 6.x / Spring Security Upgrades).

YES. SAP Commerce Cloud Composable Storefront will maintain compatibility with the August 2025 Core Commerce release for the same 12-month period and not revert to the typical six-month release cycle in this cas.

SAP has extended the August 2025 release of SAP Commerce Cloud Core Commerce to 12 months of mainstream maintenance, instead of the usual six-month update cycle.

SAP Composable Storefront, formerly known as Spartacus, has been following an aligned versioning and support strategy with Core Commerce since early 2024. This alignment includes synchronizing release timing, compatibility, and support duration. Composable Storefront receives monthly updates for features and bug fixes, and a yearly Angular framework upgrade typically takes place in February. In addition, bugfix-only periods are observed during December and January.

Because the August 2025 Core Commerce release benefits from a 12-month support window, the Composable Storefront release aligned to it will also maintain compatibility for the full 12-month period. This ensures customers can rely on long-term compatibility and coordinated maintenance across both the Core Commerce backend and the Composable frontend.

Thanks for the response! Is there anywhere in the SAP Help documentation that states alignment of SAP Commerce Cloud Composable Storefront to the August 2025 release? Would like to know if there is official documentation aligning the Composable Storefront release (normally 6 months) to the Core Commerce release for August 2025 (12 months).
