SAP cloud for customer Sales Order status in ERP integrated scenario

Hello experts,

our customer creates Sales Orders in the ERP and these replicate/integrate to Cloud for customer.

We are having trouble to understand the different Sales Order Status in Cloud for customer.

What makes the sales order in cloud for customer be in the following status?

Open

In Process

Completed

As we have been comparing in the ERP some sales orders that are in Open and some that are in In Process and can't make it clear which the differences rely on.

This note cannot be implemented as is already part of an upgrade.

I have found this: https://userapps.support.sap.com/sap/support/knowledge/en/2620633

But it talks only about the Sales quote and in the 'In Process' status talks about integration from C4C to ERP.

What I need to know is from ERP to C4C and also how the status work for Sales Orders too.
