Hello guys,
we would like to integrate the SAP Sales Cloud embedded SAC using the SAP Customer Data Cloud as a separate Identify Provider.
The following documentation has been sent out by SAP support:
>> Is this possible or do we need a IdP service provided by SAP IAS (Identiy Authentication Service)????
Cheers,
Marco

Hi Romain,
thanks for the quick answer.
In our use case we want to configure the SAP CDC as an Identity Provider for employee login only.
Since release 2108 SAC embedded is availabe in Sales Cloud we would like to activate it through the standard procedure provided by SAP. Please refer to this guide:
In the guide SAP refers to the following IdP settings:
>> Configure SAC service provider metadata in your identity provider (IdP).
As we do not have a separate IdP, our idea is to use the SAP CDC SAML 2.0 function to authentificate a SAP Sales Cloud user with the embedded SAC via email oder user ID.
Our main question is: Can we resolve this use case using the SAP CDC with SAP standard configuration. As we currently have only CDC acting as an IDP. If this is not possible, we will skip SAP CDC for IDP and will switch over to another IDP for example via SAP BTP.
Cheers,
Marco

Hi Marco,
SAP Customer Data Cloud supports SAML 2.0, so technically it is feasible. But Customer Data Cloud is more of a CIAM than standard IAM platform, geared towards B2C (and B2B if you have Customer Data Cloud for B2B), rather than B2E (employee login) scenarios, so it really depends what your use case is.
Best,
Romain.
