SAP CCtr Automatic Import Jobs

I've got several questions about the Import functionality in SAP Contact Center and mostly for Active Directory as well.

1. I would like to automate the importing of workers into a Directory Group. I've made an .ldf file that contains necessary information about a person. I've mapped the AD Field with SAP Fields. I make the first import and everything is fine. Now I want it to run on a schedule. Lets say on a daily basis - I add the schedule, superb. But after I check it next time, it looks like it keeps importing the same file over and over again from a buffer or some sort. Because even if I change the content of the file, nothing changes in the Directory. I've even deleted the original file from the import path and it still imports the user into the systems directory.

2. Does the Automatic\Directory accept files exported from AD? Or it doesn't use the mapping I've configured in the settings?

3. Kinda confused about the .ldp and .ldf-map guide in Application Help. The mapping example file is an .xml file. Does the "[Field ID]" suppose to represent the AD Field name or SAP Field name or SAP Directory Field ID?

I'm trying to import contacts into a Directory Group in SAP CCtr from a .ldf file. To be used as an internal phonebook. I have a sample .ldf file exported from AD. I've mapped the AD Fields with SAP CCtr fields in SC > System Tools > Import and Export Settings > Directory Entry… Created a fresh single Import job. Single user got imported to the right Directory Group. Now I add a schedule for the job to be run. I modify the content of the .ldf file. The job runs on schedule and imports the file. In the job result window it says "Identical: 1", even though the content has changed. It should write "Update: 1". And when I look into corresponding CDT Directory Group, then the content hasn't changed.

Now, I remove the original file form the folder where the scheduled job is importing the file. Should throw an error, because the file is missing. But instead it runs with result "Identical: 1" and nothing changes in the Directory Group.

From here I speculate that it imports the file from some kind of buffer.

Hello Alder,

I believe you are following these instructions for Importing data.

Did you notice the following Note:

•If the Folder for Import and Export Jobs has been defined, that folder is displayed as default and we strongly recommend using it. For more information, see Defining Import and Export Settings

•If the import file is not located in this folder or in its subfolder, or the folder is not defined at all, the import file is embedded into the import job when the job is defined, and information in the file cannot be changed after that.

This is probably causing your problem.

This means that the import file becomes embedded data in the actual BJS import job when the job is defined. Therefore any further changes to this file would need to be executed as a new job."

So your import job should show a file path. If it shows (embedded) something, then it will just use the embedded file again and again.

Also note that if you want to setup a repeating import from a file, SC client should have access to the defined file path.

And that is why you are the king! Thank you so much for pointing it out. I've must have misunderstood it. Got it working now just as a I wanted.

But now the second point in my main question. Does the automatic import support .ldf files? I presume it requires the .txt file with the right column names? As I placed the .ldf file into

[importexport folder]\[server name]_[Batch Job Server virtual unit]\Automatic\Directory it throws an error,

"Invalid column: sn". sn is mapped with Last Name in the Import and Export Settings.
