SAP C4C - Opportunity Creation

Dear SAP experts,

I am currently working on a C4C projet. The users use opportunity management.

Currently they can create opportunities from scratch or from lead conversion. However, we would like to disable the creation of opportunities from scratch in order to have only opportunities coming from leads.

I tried with the business roles > restrict Actions, but it disables also the opportunity from a lead.

Do you know how we can make the opportunity creation only from lead conversion?

Dear Alicia,

Have you tried to set the + button as not visible in the opportunity screen while in adaptation mode ?

You will also have to adapt the quick creation from the home page to avoid shortcut to quick opportunity creation.

I though indeed to hide the "+" button in the opportunity screen. That was a good idea!

Howver, I cannot adapt the quick creation from home page, and therefore, they still can create opportunity from scratch...

I was thinking this can be configured somehow but I looked at configuration too and it seems there is no solution there 😞

Otherwise You may create a KUT field at lead level (kind of flag "created from lead") and make it transfered to opportunity on conversion. Do not show this field in the opportunity UI and add an error control (make it mandatory ?) to prevent creation of an opportunity from scratch if the field is empty.

Not hte best solution for sure as it would block all users but it may work 🙂
