S4 Hana Service- Replicating service transactions in Sales (Sales Item integration with SD)

Hi All,

I am creating a service order with a sales item to be shipped to customer location. Upon releasing the service order with a sales item, system is automatically generating a sales order in the background in VA01(SD) but with Sales Order Type- SRVO (Std document type).

My question is where is the integration setting or configuration setting to control the sales document type. We have custom sales doc type and would like to map/integrate with the custom service order type to ensure that sales item is copied into this custom sales order type and not into SRVO. Is there a setting where we can change/maintain the custom sales doc type?

For sales item, we want to leverage the existing sales process already set up in the system and do not want to configure new sales document types.

Please confirm if this is achievable via std configuration in the system?

Hi Sankalp,

System is using 1 : 1 order type for service order and sales order. If you have service order SRVO you get sales order SRVO. If you have service order ZXXX you get sales order ZXXX. Same with item types.

fully agree with Anja.

However, I've just realized that very new version (OP 2023) contains a new table for mapping sales order types to use a different Sales order type.

Just take a look to the road map "Advance Shipment of Service parts from a Service Order", this is the summary of the improvements

• Enablement of outbound logistics processes for on-stock and procured spare parts using sales order integration
• Consumption of pre-shipped spare parts in the service confirmation
• Additional flexibility in the service logistic integration with new customizing tables for sales document type and sales item category determination
• Additional flexibility in service logistic integration with new customizing fields for Movement Type and Special Stock Indicator for material consumption from the service confirmation
• Additional flexibility to suppress the material consumption posting from a service confirmation
