Hi all,

I have some issue with new service s/4hana.

In new S/4HANA service with Advanced Execution we have an Service Quotation (SQ) 4000000184.

SQ has a two main items.

  • 10) Execution item  - this item generates maintenance order, where a costs are calculated.
    • 13) spare part
    • 16) work hours
  • 20) Expanse item

SQ 4000000184:

10) execution item has reference to maintenance order  4000803

The next step, after the customer accepted the SQ,  the system generate follow-up document - Service order

Until now everything is ok.

But when we want a requote SQ(4000000184),  system creates a new SQ (4000000185), but wihout reference to maintenace order. So subitems are missing.

SQ 4000000185

Execetion order item - item. no. 10 doesn't have any reference to maintenance order.

Is this a normal state?  Or do you have any workaround for that? Because price details doesn't work properly without subitems. The New SQ (4000000185) should have a reference to maintenance order 4000803.

Tested on S/4HANA 2023 FPS01.

Thanks you for your help.

Vojta

Hi Abhishek,
I don't want to answer for Vojtech, but I also have a requirement for requoting in the context of advanced exection.
Scenario is as follows:
1. We quote to service or repair a customer item. As this involves a lot of work steps and components, we use the advanced execution scenario.
2. the customer accepts the quote and we start the work.
3. As we proceed with the work, we discover additional defects on the object that need to be addressed, but which were not visible at the time as they only become apparent once we dismantled the object.
4. We now want to amend the original quote with the additinal items, and send the customer an updated quote.
5. If the customner accepts these items, we want this to be part of the existing maintenance order. This is a key point for us as this is still part of the same business transaction and its part of the same service job.

From what I can tell, you can only do a requote with the advanced execution scenario by creating a new quoation item with a new and seperate maintenance order. We want to requote using the existing quotation number and the existing PM order number.
Is there a way to achieve this?

Many thanks

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

Thanks for your detailed explanation of the scenario. I am able to follow. You are also right that requote in its current form will create new quotation item and new billable maintenance order.

However, I would like to clarify with you few aspects:

1. Have you tried to check whether "Price item" fits your requirements ? Please check this new feature which is already available, it might support your use case to some extent : https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_ON-PREMISE/c9b5e9de6e674fb99fff88d72c352291/ac29fa738c424fb2adc...

2. What is the motivation to extend the operations and components in the same billable maintenance order ? Why is it not possible to use a second maintenance order with a second item ? Please note that it will still be part of the same service order.

Kindly help me to understand this so that we could consider your feedback in future roadmap.

Thanks and Kind Regards,

Abhishek

Hello Vojta,

Thanks for your question. I am able to follow exactly your description of the process. Yes this is the expected behavior and it is working correctly as designed.

1. The subitems are never taken over to any follow-up document. It is not taken over into service order, it is not taken over into follow-up / copied quote and it is not taken to requote.

2. The maintenance order linkage is already transferred to service order. This linkage is not carried over into requote.

The perception is that these are purely representing cost line items and helping to evaluate the planned cost and margins. Other than this, these lines have no meaning, no lifecycle of their own. Hence they are not relevant in any follow-up document.

Please could you elaborate your purpose in more detail ? Why do you think the maintenance order and these subitems should be carried over in requote ? Please note that price items can still be added without any issues.

Thanks and Kind Regards,

Abhishek
