Restriction on number of API calls in CDC

Hi Team,

Our customer needs to update certain data for all customers of the CDC. This will happen not frequently.

However whenever this happens, 2-3 Lakh accounts.setAcccountInfo method will be called one by one from a Hybris Job or from an external system.

Hence We would like to know whether any restriction on the number of API calls in CDC.

Kindly help me here.

The short answer is yes, we do have multiple layers of protection on the platform to ensure stability for all customers. The most likely protection mechanism you may encounter is a rate-limit per second. These limits are not public, and can differ. Using tools such as the IdentitySync tool to perform the updates however would be preferred as this tool has both higher limits, and of course is built to manage data imports/exports/updates.

Sadly we can not share all the details of the protection layers, for security reasons but should you wish to run a test please just let Support know and we will assist.

SAP Customer Data Cloud (CDC) is governed by the Acceptable Use Policy, which limits the number of API calls per second based on contractual users within the CDC system.

Please clarify a little more.

From the Below screenshot:

1. Will it allow 50 Logins Per second from all the regions?

2. Will it allow only 120 API calls from all user sessions from whole regions?

Yes, it doesn't depend on the number of sites or data centers/regions. The Acceptable Use Policy limits share for the whole Partner.

SAP CDC API Calls are governed by an acceptable-use-policy and answers are as below:

1. Will it allow 50 Logins Per second from all the regions? - YES
2. Will it allow only 120 API calls from all user sessions from whole regions? - YES
