Hello all,
I wonder what the current state of experiences with tablets for mobile ordering is.
Officially I know MS Surface tablets should be used, but we're considering a deployment with iPads in a hotel (4 tablets and 2 fixed stations, plus 6 printers, 3 bars and 3 kitchens). Does anybody have any experience with a similar setup?
I am aware of note 2772476 which states remote access is not recommended, but I am wondering if there are technical issues or just security considerations in play here.
With regards to iPads, I suppose one could use an app like "Kiosker" to present a single full-screen menu. Has anybody tried this before with CCO?
Thanks and best regards,
Joerg.

Hello Joerg,
we have customers using the PartnerTech Handheld MT-6620 with 4 GB RAM and Windows in Landscape mode. You should deactivate not used windows features, then the performance during sales is working well. It is further possible to connect a mobile printer via Bluetooth, here I saw Star SM-S230i working well.
With FP10, CCO offers an optimized UI for usage in landscape mode on handhelds. Maintaining the quick selection is a bit cumbersome, however I saw a customer in the restaurant area who has 250 articles in the quick selection and this works well.
Further CCO was optimized, to also work in the table service mode in edge situations offline. This is a clear advantage compared to the usage with an Ipad. With an Ipad you need a 100% stable network connection. Nevertheless, I also know a customer who is using CCO with an Ipad Mini, however you must install CCO somewhere on a server.
Best regards,
Harald

Dear Harald,
our customer is using the Partner Tech MT-6825 (4GB, intel atom x5-z8350) and we already made the settings as described in the best practice guide for table service but the performance is still pretty poor.
Do you have further information for me which features can be deactivated and how the general performance can be increased?
Best regards,
Sven
