I am using Hybris v1808. While trying the excel import feature of backoffice product cockpit, I found that the imported products do not appear in the search result of backoffice product cockpit. I checked the console log as well as the log accessible by clicking the 'Processes' icon at the top right area of backoffice and I did not find any error. Interestingly, when I checked the old product cockpit, I was able to find the products there and I was able to approve & synchronize them there and view them in the storefront. Has anyone faced this issue? If yes, could you please suggest if there is any work around?

After installing SAP Hybris Commerce, we need to manually create Solr index for the first time to enable Solr Search in the Backoffice Administration Cockpit. I am still wondering why Solr Search has not been enabled in the Backoffice Administration Cockpit by default. After following the instructions at https://help.hybris.com/1808/hcd/33e135fe48204abc82687d4f5673951a.html I can see the products in the search result.

Exactly , the backoffice solr job needs to be run. Otherwise you can find them directly by using advanced search in backoffice (adminstration view) --> catalogs --> products
