Product/Contact - Access Control Marketing Cloud

Hello Experts,

In our business scenario we don't want to allow products/ contacts from one region to be seen by other regions, just like Accounts using Marketing Area which can control access, is there a possibility to control contacts and products in SMC?

Hello Venu,

• For Products, you cannot control it using the Marketing Area, you can check the Metadata of Product below, you won't find the Marketing Area.
• Product Metadata - https://tenant.com/sap/opu/odata/SAP/API_MKT_PRODUCT_SRV;v=0002/$metadata
• For Contacts, use the Marketing Areas.

for Contacts you can also use the Marketing Area to restrict the access.

Products have no Marketing Area assigned. Not sure if you can restrict access to them. I will check that.

as Kunal also confirmed unfortunately you cannot use Marketing Area for restrict the access to Products in the app.

I checked the business catalog where the Products - app is included (SAP_CEC_BC_MKT_PRD_PC) and saw the following restriction types:

I think nothing is useful for the restriction to products like you need it.

The only thing you can do is to set a Filter in the Segmentation Profile for example for the Product Origin or Category or something like that. So that the users can only segment the corresponding products.

Maybe you can open an Improvement Request.
