Hello,
I'm working at C4C developing in Visual Studio 2022. As you know, since August of this year, what we knew as SAP Cloud Application Studio has become an extension within the Visual Studio program.
Now we've run into a problem: when SAP updates the development environments, we have a two-week window before the production environment is updated, and we don't have access to it, not even to view the code.
This problem arises because previously we had SAP Cloud Application Studio with both versions installed on our PCs, and we could access whichever one we wanted. Now we have to uninstall the extension with the old version and install the new version.
Does anyone have a solution to access the production environment during these two weeks?
My possible solutions are to set up a virtual machine on my PC with the older version or use a different PC.
Request clarification before answering.
Hello ruben-jimenez,
With the new SDK extension, there is no option to run multiple SDK versions in parallel inside VS2022.
As a result, only one version of the SDK extension can be active at a time. During the 2-week window between test and production upgrades, you must uninstall one version and install the other as needed, as you said.
Alternatively, if you are working with a team, different users can install different versions to work around this limitation. Your suggestion of using a VM or another computer is also a valid approach.
Kind regards,
Thiago
