Why would an appointment that was created in Outlook - create multiple entries in CRM. Sometimes the CRM entry then pushes back to Outlook with an additional entry. Any thoughts why this might be. We've re-installed the add-in, but no difference.

If you want to remove the duplicate items from the Outlook Email client then you need to download an automatic software that does this task on your behalf. Shoviv Outlook Duplicate Remover also works the same. explore here:

Hi Debbie,
In MS Outlook when an appointment or visit is created and the user clicks the C4C Add Appointment icon followed by clicking sent in the pop up, a copy of the record will be sent to C4C
Now a MS Outlook entry exist with an C4C equivalent.
After the record exists in both MS Outlook and C4C and it is changed in MS Outlook e.g. some notes are added, pressing save should already be sufficient, changes will be replicated. There should not be a new record created in C4C nor a new record should be created in MS Outlook based on the entry in C4C.
Best thing is to check what users are doing exactly, by running some tests.

I agree it only appears once in Outlook and once in CRM. But even though it's been working fine for over 9 months. Suddenly duplicates are being created. The one thing he does have which he's always used is he has access to multiple calendars in Outlook I'm not sure whether this is causing the issue. But even if he puts the entry just in once calendar its still creating multiple entries in CRM and sometimes back. We've asked SAP if there is a known bug but with no response yet. They are still testing.
