Hi there
IF we have an integration with SAP Commerce and SAP MC via CPI and we are sent sales orders how can i make this attribute visible in Segmentation so i can segment customers who have placed orders or who haven't. Is there a segmentation attribute i can use?
thanks

Hi Asif,
Sales Orders are a type of interaction, like Website-Downloads, Newsletter Subscriptions, and so on...
So in Segmentation you can use the attribute "Interaction Type" to segment these customers.
Hope that helps.

Hi Tobias,
"What do you mean with "email creation date"? Is that a field in Commerce? By default you already have the CreationDate for the Commerce Facet of the Contact. But if that's a separate field in Commerce you can of course also create a Custom Field for it in MC. The mapping should be done on CPI."
Does the 'CreationDate for the Commerce Facet of the Contact' refer to when the contact is created? If so and it is OOTB then we could use this in segmentation. What is the name of the segmentation attribute for this?
Email creation date refers to when the user registers on the Commerce Cloud storefront a timestamp (date and time) is recorded. Once we have this information in Marketing Cloud we can segment newly registered customers and existing customers.

Hi Asif,
okay, so yes, this refers to the date/time of Commerce Facet of the Contact. Not sure if this is OOTB available in segmentation. Therefore you have to check Segmentation Configuration. I fear you have to bring it into Segmentation by modeling you own HANA view.
Got it. Then yes I would say if this data is sent to CPI from Commerce side I would create a Custom Field in MC and map your Email creation date to that field. That custom field you could easily add to Segmentation. That's much more easier than modeling an own HANA view.

Also just to add the Sales Orders will not be coming from Google Analytics but from Commerce Cloud. Can we still use the "Interaction Type" to segment these customers who have placed orders
thanks again

Hi Asif,
yes, it is always an interaction, independently from the system it is coming from

Hi Tobias,
Thank you for answering that so I am assuming it will appear in the box below when the integration is complete
My second question is that we also need to record the email creation date from Commerce Cloud to MC. I am assuming I will need to create a custom field attribute which to measure the date. Once i have created this custom field where in SAP MC do i go to map this field to the information being sent from Commerce Cloud
thanks
