Opportunity Management - Rebate Approval

Hello all,

I have a requirement related opportunities that I would like some feedback on.

Description

An account manager (AM) works with end users of our product to pull sales through our distributors. The AM sometimes requires a rebate to secure this business. Currently this process is not well documented and is completed through phone calls and emails then tracked in a spreadsheet on network drives.

Process Overview

  1. Account Manager (AM) identifies and qualifies opportunity.
  2. AM determines whether a rebate will be required to secure the business.
  3. If yes, there is a submission for approval.
  4. Once approved, and closed the opportunity is closed Won where the opportunity must have final approval for IC purposes by the AMs direct manager.

Key Points

  1. Rebates will be managed in C4C without integration to ECC.
  2. There are 2 seperate approval processes (Rebate and Opportunity).

Questions

  1. Does anyone have any examples of how you have handled rebate requests from sales?
  2. Does anyone have any examples of how you have handled the need for two distinct approval requirements within a single opportunity?

Good afternoon Larry,

for your second question, it seems like you could use a single approval process for your use case. After the "rebate approval" has happened, there would be an additional approval step for the manager, and that would close the opportunity as Won.
