Dear SAP Community,
we have the following case: In customizing of our marketing cloud solution we decited to make the e-mail address as shareable, so several contact persons (e.g. in company) can have the same e-mail address.
Now imagine there is a campaign execution with target group in which these several contact persons are included (due to segmentation for a company e.g.). One of the recipients decides to opt-out from e-mail newsletter, because he or she don´t want to receive newsletters from our side anymore. So in his or her contact profile the opt-out for the connected shareable e-mail address is now marked as opt-op. All other contact persons, who have the same e-mail address are able to receive our newsletters furthermore, because there is no opt-op in their contact profiles for the shareable e-mail address.
We tested this scenario and all contacts who have the same e-mail address as the one who don´t want to receive a newsletter anymore, are getting a newsletter from us furhermore.
Is there a possibilie to work with a global opt-op for same email-adresses which are in use for different contact persons?
Thanks
Kind regards,
Lukas Wissing

Hello Lukas,
SAP Marketing Cloud does not have the concept of a "global" opt-out per email address. The permissions concept would require the contact ID and the shared email address to be opted out as a combination. So if the email is shared by n contacts, there would be n such combinations to opt-out.
One custom solution I can suggest is to utilize the Contact API to read/write contacts/permissions to achieve this.
Kind regards,
Mohannad
