Offer segmentation

Hi,

I've enabled the Offer attributes in segmentation however I cannot find documentation on what data the segmentation object is looking at

It seems obvious that because the Offer attributes being available only on the contact level that the Offers found in segmentation are due to a link to that contact, but which process triggers this link? We do expansive Offer Recommendations and should have millions of these links, however a handful of offers are found

I also added the attributes to the All Contacts segmentation object and pulled in the OfferID attributes to the highest level of the model... still 8 offers shown

Does anyone know what data link is being referenced here?

My hope was that I could export offers based on file input as an example but that doesnt seem possible as the link is unclear

Hi Joyca,

Yeah, problem with All Interactions is that these Attributes are not available to be added there. Only on Consumers and All Contacts

The other thing I picked up is that even in Sales Order transactions that have the ContactID as well as the Offer ID, not Offers can be found on those interactions. Seems to me the select is for specific Interaction Types only (Email from what I can see) and no others.

I will continue poking around but it seems another feature request is on the way

Also, we use only Offer objects, rarely using Coupons.

TBH - when I saw this announced as a new feature, my hope was that it will be its own Segmentation Object or Profile and then we could link Contact AND Interaction data through this main object. Maybe it can evolve into something like this....

Right, I did have to create a ticket at SAP Support for getting the fields on the All Interactions profile.

Actually the ticket is still open. But I had the standard "all interactions" object, but also a custom "all interactions" object, and to custom objects you can add whatever you want so I added the data source _SAP_CF_SAP_CE_IC_CONTACT to my custom "all interactions" object to enable the offer&coupon fields.

The following offer and coupon attributes have been added to the segmentation profiles

All Contacts, All Consumers, All Accounts, and Contacts and All Interactions:

  • Coupon Code Usage Type
    ...

So the fields SHOULD be available on All Interactions, but they aren't...

The all interactions model indicates that source _SAP_CF_SAP_CE_IC_CONTACT is obsolete, and Refer to SAP Note 2829852.

However that note just indicates that that source is not an obsolete one...

So in short, discussing with SAP Support currently on the why and the how to get the fields active on All Interactions 😛

ok so the official reply to my ticket was:

Dear Customer, I have communicated with the product team and it seams that there is some wrong information on the "What's New 2011" help page. Sorry about that. The mentioned coupon fields beside the "Extensibility Fields from Offer Header" are present in following segmentation objects with 2011: "All Contacts" and "All Consumers". They are not available in "All Accounts and Contacts" and "All Interactions".

But, as the purpose of my ticket was really to get some fields (a.o. the new Device Type, but also the offer&coupon fields) active on the All Interactions profile, SAP did still help me out (KBA 2898952 also describes this procedure) so I do have the fields active now.

I have activated the fields for you in data source _SAP_CF_SAP_CE_IC_CONTACT. Please check if it is all you need and make them visible.

Next step is to dig deeper and see if we can find why some offer/coupons are showing up and some don't... then probably another ticket 😛

Hi,

We also activated the new Offer & Coupon attributes, and notice similar behavior:

we see data for SOME of our offers, bot not ALL of them.

Still investigating why. It may have something to do with the setting on the Coupon for Relationship Type, being either "No Contact Assigned" vs "Contact Assigned Dynamically". But we're not sure about that yet. Because even for "No Contact Assigned" type of coupons, on the contact factsheet on the Interaction details, we do see info about the offer on coupon redemptions...

We're trying to see on the "All Interactions" profile if we can figure out more.

Hi,

Not sure I can be of great help. I haven't tried that yet. But I did get a reply from Dean Gatinho on this question I raised a while ago.

Maybe this has something to do with the Object you're looking at? In the example Dean mentions 'Consumers'.

Hope you solve it.
